Nathan Harper finds its photo on an Internet site devoted to the missing children. He decides then to discover which is his true identity and realises that his parents are in no way who he believed. Later, the police, governmental agents and other more mysterious persons begin stalking Nathan.
A thriller centered on a young man who sets out to uncover the truth about his life after finding his baby photo on a missing persons website.

Will the secret Identity cooked up by John Singleton allow to Taylor Lautner a bet on orbit so much waited since Twilight? So honest is, criticism won't be loving with its benefit.
Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, the sacred trio of saga Twilight! While the first one dragged these leggings for 10 years of cameo roles in cameo roles (to signal its appearances in Into the Wild, The Messengers and Jumper), two others knocked near television industry. Continuation is known: Catherine Hardwicke searching a casting of authentic unknowns projected the first young people on the front of the stage. Since, three friends try hopelessly to tear off the tag which sticks on them on the skin. Kristen Stewart seem to have find his ways of sleepers with Welcome to the Rileys and Runaways (he is especially waited in On the road). Robert Pattinson always camps the seducers (Remember Me, some water for the elephants and the next Nice Friend). As for Taylor Lautner, the actor who will celebrate his 20 years in February, 2012 play his career obviously on secret Identity, a film type action!
Perfectly calibrated for the public for which he is intended, this first volume (since secret Identity 2 was already made official) combine all characters of an adolescence in crisis. Within a desirable environment, Nathan (Taylor Lautner) isn't however happy in the life, always tormented by the same nightmare of a woman assassinated under the eyes. His doubts existentialists are fast reinforced by a revelation on its cloudy origins (fantasy of the adolescence dreaming about another consanguinity) and the quick decease of his adopted couple. Become the stake of secret negotiations which exceed them, Nathan and her beloved Karen (Lily Collins) has to take the tangent, having stalked from everywhere (escape being other one executable of a youthful feeling of faintness).
In spite of the combat qualities of Nathan explained at the beginning of intrigue, incongruities scénaristiques work have no important form: the woof being the young people against the world of adults (this last being openly disparaged as manipulator). In this nightmare let's say correctly led (rebound scénaristiques and waterfalls which are held – they hoped nevertheless more), both young turtle doves don't have more than their love as redemptive cement. And yes! It is still perhaps a new declension of Romeo and Juliet. But if you exceeded the age, it is possible that you find a little stereotypic entertainment.

Secret identity am born in the conjunction of several strong elements: a simple concept of a formidable effectiveness, a brought forward orchestrated history as a thriller with mystery, and a charismatic hero who finds here his ideal interpreter...
The concept of the film was born here is four years, in the course of a meeting of production. The producer Lee Stollman had idea as simple as bright who right away ignited the imagination of the scriptwriter Shawn Christensen.
The producer Ellen Goldsmith-vein remembers: «Shawn right away loved the idea of this adventure. Two months afterwards, he offered us a scenario.»
Lee Stollman comments: «I knew that we hold a good concept, but we had never imagined such adventure. I don't know film as this one: this teenager discovers suddenly that his life is only a huge lie.»
One of the keys of the film was the interpreter of her hero, to which the public had to become attached. The producer Ellen Goldsmith-vein entrusts: «Taylor Lautner is undoubtedly one of the young actors who indeed imposed themselves in last years. He is in more the only one of his age to be able to play the role, given his physical aptitude in action. He is also capable of a lot of seriousness and intelligence in his game.»
The producer Lee Stollman adds: «Taylor has a physical presence and a charm which touches as much the men as the women. It is the ideal incarnation of a young hero.»
Allison Shearmur, executive producer, explains: «I loved this plan in the first reading. I worked on saga« Jason Bourne» and I found that secret Identity introduced similarities at the level of intrigue, of suspense, but with something there more. In terms of rhythm and of definition of the character, secret Identity really brings something. For Taylor Lautner, it is a chance to pass to the upper speed and to reveal all its potential.»
The famous film director John Singleton fast joined plan.
He entrusts: «Secret Identity is first of all the history of a boy who has never known his father. It is a young man who tries to be himself, and this aspect of intrigue brings an universal dimension in the film. Its situation awakens an echo in each of us. Even if the film is filled with action, I first constructed it by thinking of these big classical adventures which push the hero to evolve in the course of his experiments.»
Known to have produced the saga of the adventures of Jason Bourne, the producer Stalemate Crowley comments: «In his career, John Singleton worked on exceptional characters of cinema. Whatever is the largeness of action, he never loses the human aspect of situations. It is because he has this unique approach that they feel close to those whom he stages. To work with him is exciting because he has encyclopaedic knowledge of the cinema. He has a tremendous visual sense, a big sense of anticipation and long experience of the young actors.»
John Singleton adds: «The public has never seen Taylor Lautner in this type of role. He gives to it all his actor's measure. We wondered what part of his own personality he could bring to the character to give him a real depth. I took a lot of pleasure as film director to see exaggerating this actor in the course of filming.»
Taylor Lautner intervenes: «It is really the type of film that I love going to see. This role is from a distance the most gruelling physically that I have to turn, but also the most complete. I loved living this character and crossing his tests.»
To find the interpreter of Karen, neighbour and ally of Nathan, was one of the crucial points of casting. Thanks to his benefit in The Blind Side, Lily Collins had impressed John Singleton and the producers.
Stalemate Crowley remembers: «We saw marching a tremendous number of candidates for this role, but Lily marked minds. She has an essential quality: in life as in screen, she gives you feeling to be an accessible person.»
Lily Collins explains: «I represent a strong and determined young woman. She is fair« the girl »history, it isn't simply a pretext in a stage of love. She plays a name part in intrigue and occupies all her place! For a young actress, this type of role isn't so common.»
John Singleton comments: «Lily Collins is terrifically nice. The general public should see her becoming established for a right time!»
Jason Isaacs and Maria Bello camp the supposed parents of Taylor, Kevin and Mara.
Maria Bello tells: «I only had to hear the name of John Singleton to feel like being part of plan. But when I read scenario, I was more enthralled there by history. I thought she was fantastic! It is a thriller full of action but which doesn't forget feelings.»
Taylor Lautner comments: «Maria is extremely soft and it is a very talented actress. We share a very intense instant when she learns me that she isn't my true mother. To play it with her was very strong.»
John Singleton points out: «For the paternal face, Jason Isaacs was perfect because he clears a natural authority. I think especially of the stage where he draws Nathan away in punches it. His behaviour is almost excessive, it turns around his son by multiplying blows. Nathan doesn't understand why he wants so much to teach him her boxing nor why he subjects him to all these tests of endurance. Later, when he will have to run away to save the hide, he will include.»
Taylor Lautner adds: «Jason Isaacs is one of the men the most odd whom I meet. His relation to his son is very intense, even if he proves to be particularly strict with him. Before turning, Jason and I wanted to crack jokes, but from word« action», we were immediately in favour father-son.»
Alfred Molina lends his features to the agent of the CIA BURTON, the man who follows Nathan.
The actor explains: «This role is the first one for me, and it in more than a title. I had never played agent of the CIA, what was already exciting in itself. I had never turned with John Singleton while I admire his job for a long time. And then, I could discover a new generation of young actors as Taylor, Lily and Antonique Smith. This film really allowed me to make new experiments.»
Huge Sigourney Weaver plays the role of the doctor Geri Bennett, a choice of atypical casting since the role was initially envisaged for a man.
The producer Lee Stollman explains: «We changed in the course of casting. The idea of having Sigourney in this role was more than judicious. It is phenomenal!»
Sigourney Weaver comments: «Secret Identity is a moving film which follows the initiatory course of two teenagers full of courage and resources which are going to mature all at once. They find themselves shortly plunged into this history of spying and feel as pawns in a part which exceeds them.»
Stalemate Crowley comments: «The character of Sigourney works for the CIA for thirty years. Among her specialities, she is well accustomed to the training of the agents and she can back them up during returns of difficult missions. Nathan has just lived a very gruelling instant psychologically, that is why the CIA decides to implement therapeutic means to help him to overcome this period of transition. She puts therefore the character of Sigourney at his/her disposal.»
Sigourney Weaver resumes: «His father, Kevin, takes responsibility for his physical training, his mother helps him to exaggerate émotionnellement and Geri Bennett draws him away psychologically. Each helps him to advance.»
The Swedish actor Michael Nyqvist represents Kozlow, the enemy of Nathan. Lee Stollman tells: «We wanted to work with Michael. Even if its talent is huge, it isn't still very known and it brings in more a freshness. He can at the same time be frightening or appealing, he has a true charisma.»
Among other actors of the film, they count that Denzel Whitaker in the role of Gilly, William Peltz who represents Jake, Nickola Shreli in the character of Alek as well as Antonique Smith who plays Burns, the assistant of Burton.

Filming:
Filming started on July 12th, 2010 in Pittsburgh, in Pennsylvania, and it lasted 51 days.
The producer Stalemate Crowley explains: «Pittsburgh gives an incredible visual potential. With three rivers, many bridges and a very rich urban world, the city constitutes an ideal decor for a thriller.»
To allow the actors to evolve even more easily with their character, the most part of the film was chronologically turned. The first filmed stages were those of the high school, accomplished to the Hampton High School d' Allison Park. Very quickly, filming became more risky...
Taylor Lautner remembers: «The first time which is seen my character, it is hung on the bonnet of a lorry thrown in 120 km / h. They understand right away of what he is capable. I was harnessed in the lorry but I slid nevertheless backward and forward. I was burst well. And it was only the first waterfall!»
The actor follows: «I had the chance to make some waterfalls deny as sliding on a glassy structure overhanging PNC PARK. I practiced course, I jumped since walls and I turned an incredible stage of boxing. This role constituted a challenge for me and I devoted myself body and soul. It is ideal plan to sound, from any point of view.»
Brad Martin, the co-ordinator of waterfalls and film director of the second team, explains: «The stage on the bonnet of the lorry still didn't require huge athletic capacities. We just tied Taylor to the bonnet and hurtled kilometres down with him. It wasn't obvious nevertheless for him to represent relaxed, relaxed Nathan and bursting...»
Jason Isaacs and Maria Bello turned the stages of the family domicile in a district of the historical suburbs of Pittsburgh, Mt. Lebanon.
Maria Bello remembers: «In some stages, we tried to suggest what had been able to be their life these sixteen last years. These are snatches of life. We really tried to make show through family ambience.»
Jason Isaacs intervenes: «In the stages where Maria and I let's give retort to Taylor, John allowed us to extemporise. He wanted to create some intimacy of game with the intention of giving a real consistency to this family.»
However, when this family stability turns to chaos, Maria Bello and Jason Isaacs reveal a very different and distinctly more physical aspect of their character...
Maria Bello entrusts: «John Singleton exploits at the farthest his main actors in scenes of action. He likes this truth. Four days of waterfall at the rate of fourteen hours a day completely rolled me! But I confess to be proud to have reached it.»
James Isaacs adds: «Production had told me. I had to follow a daily training of boxing during months. That I am on another filming or that I govern the jury of a festival, I had to train every day. I had to train with the World champion of kickboxing in England and with another fabulous champion in Scotland. Then, I arrived at Pittsburgh to train with the team at the origin of the choreography of the film 300. Taylor participates in demonstrations of karate for his six years and I had to have air to be his coach. Task was hard.»
Regarding the physical side of his role, Taylor Lautner had a considerable advantage.
The actor entrusts: «Younger, I practiced extreme martial arts during eight years. For the stages of battle, I am capable of reproducing movements learnt in epoch.»
Action however doesn't concern that the men. Maria Bello confirms it: «One of the reasons which encouraged me to accept this role, it is a stage of battle of four minutes that compares me to two stunt men. I love the stages of battle!»
The actress followed two weeks of training before filming to put on at level.
She follows: «For my first role fourteen years ago, I had had to train in her boxing Thai. During about six months, I played TV in a series where I learnt to use guns, knives and to run to motorbike. I loved this! Some of my films sometimes gave me the occasion to make waterfalls, but ever nothing so intense.»
In its turn, Lily Collins knew the fire of action when production was based close to a bridge in Sutersville.
She tells: «At five o'clock, my job consisted in running in a river, in being dipped and in running away in a forest. I was covered with overalls and with scratches everywhere!»
Finally, on August 22nd, 2010, the team of filming became established in PNC PARK, stadium of baseball of Pittsburgh Pirates, to turn a key stage of the film. To return even more realistic sequence, three teams of cameramen filmed a true match comparing the Pittsburgh Pirates in New York Mets, with more than 26 000 audience in the stadium.
The filming of this sequence was a true race against the clock.
Stalemate Crowley explains: «We had envisaged that the part would last about three hours and fifteen minutes. But she was one of the shortest of the history of both clubs and we had more than one hour in less! No way to ask the players to decelerate... Then everybody was very busy!»
Following this big match – won by the Pirates – the team of filming invested the ground.
Stalemate Crowley follows: «It was an incredible experience! The representatives for the stadium left us a complete freedom.»
For his the most perilous waterfall, Taylor Lautner had to hurtle down a pendent escalator in PNC before falling on the soil, an idea came to Brad Martin during the visit of recognition of the stadium. He then choreographed the waterfall before accomplishing a filmed trial which he introduced to the actor and to the film director.
Brad Martin remembers: «In front of this video, Taylor cried: ‘My God, I, I am going to make this? ’»
Taylor Lautner tells: «Having performed several times the turn of the stadium to warm me up, I joined a place overhanging an escalator covered with a glass surface which went down on all its length. My character had to jump over a grid, see his enemy Kozlow and jump on this slope to hurtle it down entirely. A superb waterfall! She was really important for me and I was more than impatient to arrive in the day of filming.»
The film director John Singleton explains: «What is brilliant with Taylor, it is that he can play very physical stages. He can box, he knows martial arts, he carries impressive jumps out... I think that he was delighted at the idea of accomplishing a big part of his waterfalls himself. The big actors whom he admires, as Harrison Ford and Tom Cruise, also accomplished themselves many waterfalls in their action films. Taylor felt like knowing this. And then, it is nice for a film director to have to cut no actor too often in full action.»
With secret Identity, John Singleton blends skilfully action, drama, suspense and humour.
Sigourney Weaver comments: «The realisation of this film was a tournament which John could raise brilliantly. A plot of the CIA, a moving love story, of adventure and many scenes of action... Alone an experienced film director could juggle with all these elements.»
Maria Bello adds: «John knows what things are once going to resemble filmed. I think, to have seen its films, that in spite of all technology, waterfalls and effects, he knows precisely the result which he will obtain on the screen. He learnt a lot me about this point.»
The actress Antonique Smith entrusts: «With John Singleton, I don't know if it is possible to speak about paternal face because he started realisation when he had about twenty years – probably the same age as Taylor today. But he can speak to the young people and he can guide them. He wonderfully agreed with Taylor and he really helped him to show himself on the screen.»
Lee Stollman adds: «John is a huge present made to the young actors. I saw him working with people who made their first appearance on the screen. He makes them credible and puts them in situation to give the maximum. John was the ideal man to stage drama and action, but also to manage the heterogeneity of casting.»
In secret Identity, the public isn't only going to find all for that he hopes of action, mystery and suspense, but he is going also to confide a new hero. John Singleton concludes: «The public should be subjugated by the performance of Taylor Lautner. People know him as a nice rascal, the picture of the cool guy par excellence. But what he fulfils in this film lets me think that they are going to attend the birth of a new star. Taylor is charismatic, romantic, charmer and he bursts the screen. For what ask to furthermore?»
