Having escaped a sect and its charismatic leader (John Hawkes), Martha (Elizabeth Olsen) tries to rebuild and to find a normal life. She searches assistant to her elder sister, Lucy (Sarah Paulson), and to her brother-in-law (Hugh Dancy) with whom she had no more contacts, but she is unable to confess them the truth on her long disappearance.Martha is persuaded that her ancient sect always hunts her. The memories which haunt her are then transformed into frightening paranoia and border between reality and phantasm falls out little by little...Haunted by painful memories and increasing paranoia, a damaged woman struggles to re-assimilate with her family after fleeing an abusive cult.
